Limpid pool of echoing circles
This is a shot of the motel pool I took a few months back on a trip to L.A.
It was the only shutter press I made on film, and stayed in the camera till I got it our for the holidays. I shot 2 rolls of family pics and scanned them in and found it.
Generally, I hate it when people say "No photoshop used", because I could care less... but this shot has no manipulation in it. defaults on the film scanner, and just a white point adjustment in PS. All that texture is from the film... amazing ...
The same shot with my digital was ... lackluster, and did not even make the cut (Was deleted).
Fuji Superia 800, Elan7E, 50mm F1.4 ... shot @ F5.6 I think

Old Guitars
Old, broken guitars. The one in front is my first guitar, from 1972 ... the rest are parted out old guitars, and a bass. 1992 strat plus, 1985 Tokai Strat, 1986 Yamaha BB300 bass.

It was late, cold and I was tired but the fog was blowing in over the water and the moon was in the right spot so I had to stop. So I parked next to the "No Parking" sign on highway 92.
I had no coat, so I got the right lens on, attached the camera to the tripod and set the camera to bulb mode thinking I was going to go for about 1 and 1/2 min exposure. I did this in the car to minimize the time in the cold with no jacket to protect me.
I got out, ran across the highway and put the tripod down, tried to focus .... couldn't see thru the viewfinder well enough to tell. Autofocus couldn't see either DAMN!
I tripped the shutter accidentally trying to autofocus and thought ... perhaps it would be in focus, and let it run for 9 seconds... I worked with the focus a bit more after that then the cold got to be too much for me and I gave up.
Looking at this exposure, I think if I had stuck it out ... perhaps had a jacket ... the results would have been astounding.
However, now I look at this and I think ... what if I could come up with a set of well composed, moody, blurry, over or under exposed ... well thought out ... but off kilter landscape photos ....

Childrens Guitar Player
2 years old, and already able to name the Beatles on sight!
She turned to a pic of Robert Smith from The Cure and said "He's Scary!" .... At 2 it comes out more like "Scaow-wee" ...cute.... :)
Canon G9 with a 430EX mounted on the hot shoe, bounced of the ceiling ... nice, sharp, colors came out good.
I like my G9!
